Participants from all around the Niagara Region, including St.Catharines, Niagara Falls and Hamilton were first introduced to basic meditation technique, focusing on breathing patterns and keeping a clear mind.
Next up was working on mobility within the major joints of the body including the neck, shoulders and hips, as well as a great section just on the feet. Techniques taught were from Dr.Andreo Spina's Functional Range Conditioning, and results were felt immediately. Our next section was on movement, working on correct form for various movements such as crawling, crab walks and hopping. Lots of fun moving around and the work made everyone's bodies feel that much better.
To finish off, Dana went over foundations to getting started on being successful with handstands. Solid, fundamental techniques that were easily applied by all participants. Even those that thought they would never be doing handstands were impressed with how easy it was to get started.
All the participants were more than happy with the material presented, as well as Dana's coaching. He is one of the most passionate coaches around, and he is very good at delivering the material in a fun and easy to follow manner. I am looking forward to continuing to have Dana in to SBG Niagara to help our athletes better themselves.
